Antarctic Penguins

When I write paragraphs I am learning to use clever Vocabulary to say exactly what I mean.

Penguins have overlapped feathers on their bodies to keep them warm in freezing cold water, Also Emperor Penguins  huddle together to keep each other survive from the freezing cold ice.

Adelie Penguins nest their eggs on little tiny stones, They also have white rings around their eye most of the time penguins breed on shore to keep their eggs away from Skuas because once a Skua get close to a Penguins eggs they poke the egg with a hole then they tear the baby Penguin apart and eat it.

Most of the times female Penguins leave the egg and the father,Then they leave to hunt for Fish to bring back to the family but they leave for a very long time then come back and swap with the father.

Also Penguins have to be careful if they are near to a leopard seal because if a Penguin goes near it the Leopard seal  will eat the Penguin.

Antarctic Penguins

Penguins live in the Southern Ocean, but  there are no penguins that live in the north.

Penguins can't fly, as they are on ashore they take little woddling steps.

The temperature drops well below freezing, the sun does not rise for a very long time.

Antarctica Seals

WALT-  We are learning to summarise the main points of a paragraph.

Seals are Mammals that live in the ocean all over the world all of the seals at Antarctica are non-eared these seals have lots of blubber to keep them warm.

Seals have thick short hair on their streamlined body to keep them warm they have flippers to help them be superb swimmers most of the time seals are in the sea.

As Seals are getting out of the sea they have to HAUL themselves out of the water on the land
to give birth to their pups or rest on the Ice most of the Seals  are slow and clumsy all Seals are graceful in the water.

There are 30 million Crabeaters in Antarctica. Did you know that Crabeaters eat krill instead of crabs in the sea?

Leopard Seals hunt for Penguins under Ice. As Leopards are out of the water they can not move quickly.

Weddell Seals live in the Southern Ocean. They spend the whole time in Antarctica. Also they stay at Antarctica even though the water has frozen.
